Dr. Pereira-Sheteolu Olalekan an indigene of Lagos Island was born on the 2^nd of February 1962 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Pereira – Sheteolu.

He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degrees in Plant Science Botany from the prestigious University of Lagos between 1982 -1988.

His Doctorate Degree in Plant Science was conferred on him at the University of Lagos while at University of Lagos he was the National President Association of Botany Student University of Lagos Chapter.

The humble and gentle Olalekan occupied various positions that distinguish him in the University. He was a lecturer at the Lagos State University between 1994-1999 in the faculty of Botany and Microbiology and part of the team that restructured the University and served in the capacity as Adviser from 1997-1999.

Dr. Pereira-Sheteolu was also at the University of Reading in England on Exchange Programme 1999-2009 and also served in the United State Consulate in Toronto as trainer on visa information services and real Estate Management.

He was a consultant and coordinator to the Lagos State Government Programme on Operation Green Lagos, 2009-2014. It was in view of his tremendous contribution to the beautification of Lagos State that he was appointed by the State Government as Deputy Director Agric Research GL 16 on 25^th February 2014.

To further enrich the State from his knowledge in Plant science that he was posted to Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency where he joined the team that beautify the state.

He was formally deployed from LASPARK to the Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority as Assistant Programme Manager. He was a integral part of the team that prepare the blue print for food Security in the State. The present Programme Manager is married and blessed with wonderful children
